GIZA, Egypt: Salafi youth are helping residents solve the butane gas crisis in Haram, the neighborhood closest to Egypt's famous pyramids at Giza. The youth sold gas barrels at 5 EGP (U.S. $0.84) rather than 25 EGP (U.S. $4.2). The residents expressed their gratitude for the youth's help. A video was published on social networks online showing a woman replying to a question asked by one of the Salafi youth about the price of gas. She said, "What you are doing is amazing, since a barrel of gas is sold at 25 EGP (U.S. $4.2)." The youth put a barricade around the van transporting gas barrels and formed a committee to organize queues for residents to receive barrels.
