Khaled Said's family will commemorate him after a year of his death. Khaled was killed by two policemen who assaulted and tortured him in front of his house in Alexandria a year ago. Khaled's mother, Laila Marzouk, and sister returned from Cairo and headed to his house in Cleopatra Square in Alexandria in order to start the commemoration. They will visit Khaled's tomb and other tombs belonging to martyrs in Alexandria. The youth and political powers will then organize a protest where they will wear black from 5 to 8 pm. The protest will include Muslims and Christians who will each carry their holy books, whether it is the Quran and Bible, to pray for all martyrs. A public conference will be held to discuss the events which the case of Khaled Said witnessed during this year. Khalid's mother said that her son's commemoration aims to also honor all the martyrs of the Egyptian revolution who were killed by the former regime. She said that although it was a sad day, Egypt needs to also celebrate the victory it recently achieved. The Facebook page "We are all Khaled Said" called for all governorates in Egypt to mourn for Khaled for a time period of three hours.
