Last opportunity to revive hope
Published in Youm7 on 05 - 06 - 2011

The Egyptian national team will face South African national team at 8:30 P.M. for qualifications into the African Nation Cup championship that will be held in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in 2012. The Egyptian team ranked the last position with one point while the South African team ranked first with seven points.
The coach of Egypt's national team, Hassan Shehata, has two choices; to either win this match and revive Egyptians' hope to join the next African cup or to resign from coaching the team especially since relations between Shehata and Egyptians are strained due to Shehata's unsupportive nature since the January 25 Revolution.
Wining the match today is the first step in the difficult process of getting qualified in the campaign. Forming Egypt's national team will go through a notable change by picking unfamiliar players such as Dody al-Gabas, Ahmed al-Shenawy, and Ahmed Adel Moniem to join the team, since the other members were affected recently by injuries.
Fans cannot predict Shehata's plan for this important match and whether he will adopt a defense to ensure securing Egypt's goal or adopt an attack to achieve required success.
Shehata chose five strikers; Mohamed Zidan, Ahmed Ali, Dody al-Gabas, al-Sayed Hamdy, and Ahmed Abdel Zaher. The rest of the team includes Shekabala, Mohamed Nagi Gedo, Ahmed Hassan and Abdallah al-Said. This increasing number of strikers may affect the coach's choices of picking which strikers to start the match.
Egypt's national team must win the next three matches to rank second of its group to have a chance to qualify in the 2012 cup as one of the best second-ranking teams.
On the other hand, the South African team is confident in today's match because it won over Egypt in back in March.
South Africa's coach will adopt a balanced plan to control the match and to narrow spaces in front of the Egyptian players.
