MINYA, Egypt: ‘The Martyrs,' ‘Tahrir,' and ‘January 25' are the news names of 27 schools, replacing their former names of 'Hosni Mubarak' or 'Suzanne Mubarak' in Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt. Deputy of the Ministry of Education, Mahmoud Wahdan, said there are 27 primary and preparatory schools that will take new names over Mubarak and Suzanne. He said changing the names will start during the summer vacation, noting this change was made to remind students of the January 25 Revolution to enhance their patriotism and their loyalty to Egypt. Parents and students asked for changing of schools' names despite the refusal of the school heads. Egyptian youth removed Mubarak's name from squares and neighborhoods before the cabinet issuing their decision to remove Mubarak's names from all buildings and facilities all over Egypt.
