EDFU, Egypt: A Coptic Christian girl named Christine Wahbah Poles disappeared a few days ago after leaving her home. Rumors spread that she was kidnapped; the commotion shook the little village of Edfu, in Aswan. Christine, 18 years old, left her home because she felt rejected by her family. She decided to run away since her family would not have accepted her leaving. Christine is a good student who scored 98 percent in secondary school. She was popular and her colleagues were keen to be her friends. She also attended cultural activities in her school. Most residents of the village sympathized with Christine's family. During Youm7's round in Edfu, many residents of the village were interviewed, including Sayed Ahmed, Zaki George and Mustafa al-Hadad. They confirmed the unity of all residents in Edfu and ruled out any criminal or sectarian motives behind Christine's disappearance. The priest of the village church, Yousef Oweida, stressed that relations between all residents are strong and haven't been affected by any event. He confirmed that both Muslims and Christians joined together to look for the lost girl.
