CAIRO: The Fulbright organization will hold a preparatory seminar for students of 2011-2012 on May 16 -19. The students will travel to study in the U.S. next August. The manager of the Vocational Education Support program, Amal al-Mohandes, said 40 students will travel to study in various disciplines such as business administration, health and tourism. Al-Mohandes said the organization has provided 713 scholarships to Egyptian students to study in American universities. There are now around 125 Egyptian students studying in 27 American universities in different educational fields. Al-Mohandes said the Vocational Education Support (VES) program has accepted Egyptian youth since 2008. Since then, approximately 10 thousand Egyptian students, from all over Egypt, applied to join the program. In the fourth year of the program, the VES received about 223 applications, from which they chose 40 students in a variety of educational branches. She said in the past four years, 50 percent of applicants had high certificates while the rest had average certificates. Arabic here.
