CAIRO: The Egyptian cabinet expressed its full support for policemen's need to perform their duties of achieving security and protecting citizens. In the Cabinet's declaration following its meeting, it stressed the right of police to use all legal and physical measures to perform their duties. That may include the use of force and the legal right to self defense when dealing with thugs who are assaulting public or private property, terrorizing citizens, violating courts or any service, production, security of religious facilities. The Cabinet said that its support for police emanates from its respect for individual rights and freedoms and the necessity of keeping security and stability in the country.
