Libyan activists said coordinating with Egypt's political powers to form pressure groups and cooperate with civil society is a necessity. The comments came during the activists' first forum with their Egyptian counterparts, which was held yesterday. They also discussed civil efforts to support the Libyan uprising and the challenges it faces. The forum was attended by a group of Libyan opposition figures in Egypt and members of the Egyptian initiative "Egyptians for Free Libya," including Gameela Ismail, a prominent opposition figure and human rights activist, and Amir Salem, chief of the Human Rights Assembly. The media committee of the Libyan activists said coordination is necessary between Libyan and Egyptian media channels, working inside and outside Libya. A relief committee proposed responding to the needs of Libyan groups already working on the issue and establishing a general information bank. It also suggested creating mechanisms to collect, write and classify the data. Arabic here.
