TANTA, Egypt: Eighteen students in the boys' dormitory at Tanta University have been moved to the hospital for treatment after being poisoned on Sunday. The source of the poisoning remains unclear. Dr. Hala Ahmed Fouad, the chairwoman of the university, said students have been poisoned for unknown reasons. She said their health is stable and not serious. She also said she will form a committee to investigate the cause of the poisoning though testing the meals served in the dormitory and examining the students. The incident caused panic among some students when ambulances arrived to take their classmates to the hospital. The students said the number of cases is 45, but Dr. Fouad said the number was only 18.
