CAIRO: Prisoners in Tora Prison are not allowed to see each other, said Mohamed al-Damaty, Secretary of Egypt's Bar Association. The announcement came after a meeting between the minister of interior, Mansour el-Issawi, and two officials from the Bar Association. Tora Prison is where many prominent figures from the former regime are being held on corruption and murder charges, among them the two sons of deposed President Hosni Mubarak. The prisoners do not enjoy any exceptions or privileges, said Damaty. El-Issawi is strict against any violation or discrimination in dealing with the prisoners. El-Issawi said he intends to allow a delegation from the Bar Association to visit Torah Prison to disprove the rumors that former ministers and politicians are meeting and communicating while in detention. In the meeting, al-Dereeny presented a study titled, 'A Vision of the Future of Egypt's Security' to the minister. The study aims to examine how policemen can restore their position in the streets and in Egypt's community. Al-Essawi approved of the study and discussed some of the points made. He promised to form a committee to study the vision and possibility of implementation. Al-Dereeny said el-Issawi ruled out distributing prisoners in Torah to different prisons because such a process needs more security arrangements and that would take valuable time and effort from the Ministry of Interior.
