CAIRO: The opening hours of the Egyptian Muesum has been extended from 2pm to 4pm on Fridays starting next week, the Ministry of Antiquities announced on Wednesday. Zahi Hawass, the minister of antiquities, said the increade in hours was a result of increasing the number of visitors to the Museum and all Egyptian monuments. Hawass said the number of visitors has exceeded 2000. “The Egyptian Museum allows tourists and visitors from 9am to 7pm six says of the week, Saturday through Thursday. But on Friday, it closes early for necessary cleaning and maintenance,” General Manager of the Museum, Tarek al-Awady, said.
