Ahli intend to punch above their weight in the upcoming Club World Cup, according to club vice-chairman Mahmoud Al-Khatib. After clinching a seventh Champions League title, the Reds are heading to Japan for a fourth appearance in the FIFA's top club competition. Having remarkably achieved third place in 2006, the Egyptian titans seem to be setting higher goals this winter. “I think this time we could be looking forward to winning the title," Ahli legend Al-Khatib told a press conference on Wednesday. “In three previous appearances our best position was third, so maybe it's time to aim higher. “We are actually planning for such a big achievement and hopefully it could happen this year." Ahli open their World Cup campaign against the winner of next week's playoff between Auckland City of New Zealand and Japanese champions Hiroshima Sanfrecce.
