Egypt's group rivals Guinea claimed a vital 1-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Zimbabwe in Harare. Promising midfielder Ibrahima Traore scored the winner for the Syli Nationale, courtesy of a first-half freekick. Traore's goal plus some resilient defending in the second half ensured victory for Michel Dussuyer's side. The win puts Guinea second in Group I as Egypt leads with a better goal-difference following a 2-0 win over Mozambique. Guinea host Egypt next week whereas Zimbabwe travel to Mozambique.
