Zamalek said veteran midfielder Ahmed Hassan is unable to train with the team in the wake of the tragic death of 74 supporters in Masri's league game with Ahli last week. The Whites' website stated that the Egypt captain has taken permission from manager Hassan Shehata to skip training because of his ‘poor morale and lack of concentration'. Hassan, 37, revealed recently that the disaster that rocked Egypt during the past few days prompted him to consider retiring from professional football. His declaration came despite being one international match away from becoming the world's most-capped footballer of all time. Zamalek are currently preparing to meet Tanzania's Young Africans in Dar es Salaam in the CAF Champions League round of 64 this month.
