Zamalek were undone by a stunning turnaround from Police Union to lose 2-1 behind closed doors at Cairo Stadium. A first half that was marred by a scene of breaking and entering from the Zamalek fans, ended in favor of the Whites, who took the lead through an Ahmed Hassan penalty. But Police scored twice in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to snatch the points with goals from Salah Ashour and Maarouf Youssef. It is the first league defeat for Hassan Shehata as manager of Zamalek, who slipped down from second to fifth place. Intrusion...Abdul-Wahed saves With six minutes gone, Amr Zaki won a clever penalty following the slightest of touches by Fathi Mabrouk, but the penalty decision was overshadowed by another scene in the stands. Punished for their persistent use of fireworks, Zamalek fans showed no yielding as tens of young supporters came out of nowhere with lighted canisters to interrupt the game. Hassan made no mistake from the spot before heading directly to urge supporters to leave the stadium as order was restored once again. Police were by far the better side after conceding the early goal, with Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed making a total of seven saves in the first half to deny them. Quickfire double Zamalek had goalscorer Hassan taken off before half time after receiving a knock to his already-injured stomach. Just four minutes after the interval, the visitors grabbed a deserved equalizer when Ashour beat Salah Soliman in the air to head in past Abdul-Wahed. Eight minutes later, Abdul-Wahed's first-half efforts were blown in the wind when the veteran keeper was beaten by Youssef, following a fine through ball from Saied Kamal. Shehata's men did little effort to avoid a first league defeat while Helmi Toulan's Police were too organized at the back to keep their lead intact. Once again, there was no need for Mido as the big-name striker remained on the bench for the whole 90 minutes, with Omar Gaber, Hazem Emam and Hussein Hamdi used as subs by Shehata.
