Al-Sadd of Qatar completed an exceptional Asian Champions League campaign by clinching the title in dramatic fashion. The Doha giants, who only qualified for the finals through preliminary playoffs, edged out South Korea's Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 4-2 on penalties on Saturday. A thrilling 2-2 draw in Jeonju saw the Koreans take the lead through Brazilian Eninho, but Woo Yeon Sim scored an own goal to make it 1-1 before the breal. Ivory Coast winger Kader Keita gave Al-Sadd the lead on 61 minutes, only for Jeonbuk to grab a 92nd minute equalizer through Seung Hyun Lee. Al-Sadd keeper Mohamed Saqr was the hero after saving two penalties before Algeria international Nadir Belhadj netted the winning spot kick for the Qataris. By winning their first continental title since 1989, Al-Sadd became the first team to be crowned Asian champions after starting their campaign in the play-offs in February.
