FA chairman Samir Zaher has confirmed that American coach Bob Bradley has become the closest candidate to take charge of the Egypt first team. Bradley has been shortlisted by the FA as one of four names to succeed Hassan Shehata on the Egypt bench, following the latter's departure in June. “We have settled on Bradley and we shall send him our suggestion for a contract to start negotiations within the next 24 hours,” FA chief Zaher told FilGoal.com. “Bradley did not overstate his financial demands like the other candidates during the recent period of talks.” The other contenders listed by the FA were Colombian Francisco Maturana, Croatian Zoran Filipovic and Serbian Milovan Rajevac. Bradley, who led USA to the World Cup round of 16 last year, has repeatedly expressed his enthusiasm to lead the seven-time African champions. The 53-year-old promised that he can guide the Pharaohs to the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil, with the qualifiers starting next year.
