Egypt interim coach Hany Ramzy has named his preliminary squad for the 2012 CAN qualifier against Sierra Leone next month. The former defense star, who will be in charge for the remaining two games against Sierra Leone and Niger, selected 29 players for the pre-match camp starting on Saturday. Ramzy mostly relied on members of the U-20 team that represented Egypt in the ongoing World Cup finals in Colombia, even though top scorer Mohamed Ibrahim was left out. Ismaili youngster Amr Al-Sulaya is the only member of Ramzy's selection who has already played for the Egypt first team under former manager Hassan Shehata. Egypt have virtually lost any hope of making the Gabon/Equatorial Guinea finals, forcing the FA to put their faith in the Olympic team to take over for the next two games. The Olympic team are preparing for the London 2012 qualifiers group phase that will take place in December.
