Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan is willing to alter the terms of Mido's lucrative contract with the club as the striker looks certain not to play this season. Mido signed a three-year deal worth around EGP 19million in January, only to find out that he has not been registered properly by the Cairo club. Zamalek have taken the case to FIFA and CAS, but their attempts came to no avail as the 27-year-old is unlikely to play before next term. While Mido has insisted that he ‘will not give up on one penny of his contract', Hassan says it is impossible for the club to pay an out-of-service employee. Inactive “We cannot spend wages on an inactive player. This would be a financial violation,” Hassan told FilGoal.com. “I therefore requested to have Mido's contract reformed by transferring his wages for this season to the following years remaining in the deal.” Zamalek have been struggling financially this season, which forced chairman Galal Ibrahim to open a donation account to aid the club by the end of last year.
