Palestine goalie Ramzi Saleh revealed that his move to Harras Hodoud had fallen through due to a chronic cruciate ligament injury. The 30-year-old penned a contract with the military side last week, shortly after his deal with Zamalek was terminated. Saleh, who's now a free agent, said both clubs backtracked on their decisions to sign him because he has been suffering a cruciate ligament problem since 1998. "Yes, my knee in injured," the former Ahli guardian told Modern TV. "My injury is a partial tear of the cruciate ligament, but thanks to my strong muscles I have been playing normally over the past years." Zamalek announced they had annulled Saleh's contract due to a financial disagreement. "Hodoud told me they cannot accept me in the team with my injury, and I respect their honesty," he said. "I'm also grateful to Zamalek's technical staff because they refused to unveil the real reason why they backed out of the deal. "I will travel to Germany soon in order to undergo surgery. I will carry on my career and will never give up." Saleh played for Zamalek's arch-rivals Ahli between 2008 and 2010 but barely made an impact, failing to fill the void left by the abrupt departure of Essam Al-Hadari to Swiss side Sion. Afterwards, he spent an unhappy spell with Sudanese giants Merreikh, the club he rescinded his contract with before signing for Zamalek in December.
