Sacked Cabral receives $180 thousand from Ittihad

Ittihad will pay Brazilian coach Carlos Cabral $180,000 as compensation for sacking him, the Alexandria-based club said on Tuesday.
Cabral was due to receive a hefty amount of money after being relieved of his duties last week but Ittihad managed to lower the penalty for dismissing him.
"We reached a financial settlement with Cabral," Ittihad's board member Sherif Al-Helw told FilGoal.com.
"He agreed to take $180,000 as compensation."
Ittihad initially said that Cabral could not invoke the penalty clause despite being shown the door, arguing that the clause became invalid because the club were lying among the bottom three in the Egyptian Premier League.
However, the fact that Ittihad still have one game in hand proved them wrong.
Cabral, who also managed Zamalek in Egypt, was sacked after the club made a disastrous start to the season.
They could only collect nine points from their first 10 games, failing to bag any win before their enthusiastic crowd at Alexandria Stadium.
Egyptian coach Mohamed Amer succeeded him but his debut was spoiled by Ismaili, who defeated Ittihad 3-1 last week.
