FilGoal.com player ratings (Egypt 1-1 Sierra Leone)
Published in FilGoal on 06 - 09 - 2010

FilGoal.com's player ratings for Egypt's 1-1 draw at home to Sierra Leone in the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.
Essam Al-Hadari (7.5): The veteran keeper was not to blame for Sierra Leone's opener in the second half. He thwarted two goalscoring opportunities for the visitors after the break.
Sayed Moawad (6): The Ahli left back was lively in the first half, whipping in a couple of decent crosses but his form faded in the second period. He also left gaps at the back when he made his darting runs on the flank.
Mahmoud Fathallah (6): The central defender scored Egypt's sole goal via a fine header. He did not commit fatal mistakes but there was a clear lack of communication between him and his defensive partner Wael Gomaa.
Wael Gomaa (3): The combative defender, who is known for his consistent displays, had a night to forget. His failure to mark opposing strikers resulted in Sierra Leone's stunning goal. His lapse of concentration could have cost Egypt on many occasions.
Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (6): The Sunderland wing-back was playing on his own on the right flank, trying to perform his defensive and attacking duties without much assistance from his teammates. He released Mohamed Abou-Treika with a deft pass in the first half but the playmaker could not round it off.
Ahmed Hassan (4): The Egypt skipper, who usually plays as a central midfielder, was given a more defensive role which he failed to carry out in a convincing manner. He was substituted in the second half after picking up an injury.
Ahmed Fathi (5): The defensive midfielder, unlike Hassan, played in an advanced position but his inaccurate passes cut short Egypt's attempts on goal more than once.
Mohamed Abou-Treika (7.5): Although the classy playmaker wasted a golden opportunity with few minutes remaining, he was Egypt's liveliest performer. He set up Fathallah for the Pharaohs' goal and his neat passes split Sierra Leone's defense many times.
Geddo (6): The 2010 Nations Cup hero was energetic but not as efficient as he used to be.
Ahmed Mekki (5): The Harras Hodoud forward made his competitive debut but he was a peripheral figure. He was eventually replaced with Walid Soliman early in the second half.
Ahmed Ali (4): The Ismaili frontman failed to replicate the form that saw him score twice in the 6-3 friendly victory over DR Congo. He could not fill the void left by Amr Zaki and Emad Meteb.
Substitutes:
Walid Soliman (6.5): The ENPPI playmaker injected zeal following his second-half introduction but was selfish.
Ahmed Abdul-Zaher (3): The striker played for 20 minutes in the second half but his presence was not felt.
Amr Al-Sulaya (3): The Ismaili midfielder replaced the injured Ahmed Hassan but his shots were useless and imprecise in the dying minutes of the game.
