Amr Al-Halawani ended a five-year adventure in Greece to join ENPPI, the Egyptian Premier League side announced on Wednesday. The 25-year-old, who plays as a left-sided midfielder, joined ENPPI on a free transfer after leaving Ionikos Nikea. "Al-Halawani has become an ENPPI player after penning a five-year deal today," the club's football director Alaa Abdul-Sadek told FilGoal.com. The diminutive wing-back came through the youth ranks of Cairo giants Ahli before moving to Greek side Kalamarias. He also played for Veria and Ethnikos Piraeus in Greece but decided to return home this summer. Al-Halawani, who was targeted by Zamalek two years ago, became ENPPI's fourth high-profile signing in the close season. They signed Egypt's veteran defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa, who ended an 11-year spell in Turkish football, and Petrojet duo Mohamed Shaaban and Walid Soliman. "Al-Halawani is our last acquisition for the new season. We are satisfied with the deals we made in the transfer window," Abdul-Sadek added. ENPPI, who won the Egyptian Cup in 2005 but have struggled since then, are spending big to improve on their eighth-place finish last season.
