Zamalek can 'easily' beat Ahli - skipper
Published in FilGoal on 14 - 04 - 2010

Zamalek skipper Ayman Abdul-Aziz, who is yet to be eligible to play for Zamalek after returning from a loan spell at Turkey's Diyarbakirspor, believes his side can 'easily' beat Ahli in the Cairo derby.
Both sides, who settled for a goalless draw in December, lock horns in an anticipated clash at Cairo Stadium on Friday.
A win for Ahli, who haven't tasted derby defeat since losing 2-0 to Zamalek in May 2007, will hand them a sixth consecutive Egyptian Premier League title.
Zamalek eye a morale-boosting win that would enable them to cement second place and book a place in next season's African Champions League.
"Regardless of the teams' positions in the league table, I believe Zamalek can claim an easy victory over Ahli," Abdul-Aziz said on the club's official website on Wednesday.
"Ahli's only strong point lies in their attack. We will win the game if we maintain the fine run that we enjoyed under coach Hossam Hassan."
Abdul-Aziz returned to boyhood club Zamalek in the summer of 2008 but was criticized for a string of below-par displays as the White Knights finished sixth in the league table.
He joined Diyarbakirspor on loan last summer and was supposed to remain there until the end of the season but he opted to terminate his deal in January after the club failed to fulfill their financial obligations towards him.
He now awaits his international transfer certificate (ITC) to feature in Zamalek's remaining games of the season.
"I'm very unhappy that I will not be able to play in the derby," the 31-year-old added.
"But I'm in contact with my teammates to support them ahead of this important game."
Ahli are on top of the table with 56 points, nine ahead of second-placed Zamalek who played a game more.
