Ibrahim Saied participated in Toronto's preseason 1-0 defeat by Real Salt Lake as he continues his efforts to earn a move to the Major League Soccer (MLS) side. The nomadic Egyptian defender started on the bench before being introduced in the 71st minute. Costa Rican striker Alvaro Saborio, who joined Real Salt Lake earlier this month, scored the winner 11 minutes after the restart. Former Ahli, Zamalek and Ismaili man Saied is on trial with Toronto. He played in Toronto's goalless draw with Charleston and the 1-0 defeat by DC United. Saied started the season with Libyan side Ahli before terminating the contract with mutual consent. He was linked with a move back to Zamalek but the white club didn't offer him a contract. The 2010 MLS season will kick-off on Mach 27th.
