Ahli have ordered rising star Afrotto not to talk to the media to help him keep his feet on the ground, the club's football director Hadi Khashaba said on Saturday. Afrotto made headlines after coming off the bench to inspire Ahli to a 4-2 victory over Police Union in the Egyptian Premier League on Friday. He was introduced in the second half to score the equalizer, earn the penalty which resulted in Ahli's second goal and wrap up the win with a fourth goal to cap an impressive first-team debut. "We don't want the player to get carried away and become arrogant," Khashaba told FilGoal.com. "We told him not to give any interviews to remain on focused on maintaining his fine displays." Afrotto rose to prominence during Egypt's U-20 World Cup campaign on home soil in October last year. However, he was snubbed by Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri, apparently for disciplinary reasons. His U-20 teammate Ahmed Shokri, who also played at the World Cup, was given the nod. Afrotto was finally given his chance against Police after Ahli were hit by a string of injuries to their key players, including the likes of Mohamed Abou-Treika, Sayed Moawad and Emad Meteb. "He should be aware that his work on the pitch will help him realize his personal aims," Khashaba added. Afrotto could be given a starting berth when Ahli face Harras Hodoud away from home on Thursday.
