Zamalek's 2-1 defeat to Harras Hodoud has been sustained by the Egyptian FA, despite the controversial inclusion of Ahmed Eid in the game. Eid played full 90 minutes for Hodoud earlier this month, scoring the opener at Cairo Stadium, but Zamalek protested that the Egypt winger should have been banned. Eid was given straight red for an inappropriate behavior after Hodoud's defeat to Arab Contractors last month, after which he was suspended for one match. The news comes as a blow for Zamalek, who repeatedly insisted that they expect nothing less than the three points or a replay of the infamous game. Abandon
In the wake of the association's verdict, Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan expressed his dismay, reiterating the club's refusal to give up on 'their right'. "The negative decision was expected because the FA's injustice is not news," the outspoken Egypt legend told Dream TV. "It is now up to the board to keep fighting for our right. All options are open; we can call FIFA, CAS or even the Egyptian court of law. "We won't give up on our right, even if we were forced to abandon the league in protest. "If the board decided to pull out of the case, Zamalek supporters won't."
