Zamalek's newly-appointed coach Hossam Hassan pledged to help the White Knights restore their status as a powerhouse. The Cairo side ended their four-match winless run on Saturday when they battered Masri 3-0, to score their first victory under Hassan. The former Egypt skipper was appointed as Zamalek head coach early this month, and under his guidance the team lost 2-1 to Harras Hodoud and played out a goalless draw with Ahli, before beating Masri. Hassan stressed that his players have to exert huge efforts to regain their form, after suffering from recurring losses this season. "Patience is always a key to success," he told Nile Sports.
Mido "We still have a lot of work to do in order to get back to normal and vie for the league title with Ahli at the top of the league table. "I promise that I will lead a turnaround in the club's fortunes." Zamalek, who lost six games out to 13 this season, are in 12th place on 15 points, three above the relegation zone. On the other hand, Hassan heaped praise on fit-again striker Mido, although the towering striker wasted a host of clear-cut opportunities against Masri. "He was restless on the pitch and has always been influential, he's not lucky enough though," he added.
