Ismaili leapfrogged over Gaish into third place after clinching a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Military Production on Tuesday in the Egyptian Premier League. Dervishes frontman Mohamed Hommos opened the scoring after 17 minutes, but Production's Sameh Adrous brought the score level three minutes from halftime. Ahmed Ali netted the winner for Ismaili on 72. Having won the game, Ismail moved to third spot with 16 minutes, while the fifth-placed military outfit remained on 12 points Hommos hit the opener upon converting a free-kick, while Adrous scored the equalizer when he cannoned a long-range shot that went past Essam Al-Hadari. Ali restored the costal side's slender lead after heading home 18 minutes from time. Ismaili played the last couple of minutes with a man down, after the referee dismissed Tunisian striker Mohamed Selliti following an on-pitch scuffle. Elsewhere, Ittihad, who had an abysmal start to the season, registered their second successive win upon defeating Police Union 1-0. Mohmad Ngai scored the only goal in the game two minutes past the hour mark. The Alexandrian side moved up to 13th place on eight points. Police remain 11th with nine points.
