Real Madrid overcame the first-half dismissal of Raul Albiol to claim a 2-0 home victory over Getafe in the Primera Liga on Saturday, thanks to a Gonzalo Higuain brace. Central defender Albiol was harshly shown a straight red card after 27 minutes for bringing down a Getafe forward the edge of the area. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Real, inspired by the impressive performance of Argentine forward Higuain, managed to claim all three points. The 21-year-old opened the scoring eight minutes after the restart when he chested down Marcelo's left-wing cross to drill a powerful left-foot shot into the top right corner. He added the second three minutes later, breaking clear after racing onto a Karim Benzema pass to slot past the advancing keeper. The win will ease pressure on Real coach Manuel Pellegrini, who saw his side suffer an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to third-tier Alcorcon in the midweek King's Cup tie. Real have 22 points from nine games, one behind defending champions and leaders Barcelona, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna later in the day. Watch Real's goals
