Ismaili goalie Mohamed Sobhi played down reports claiming that he had penned a pre-contract with Ahli to join the Cairo club in January. The 28-year-old has been repeatedly tipped to move away from Ismaili since Egypt keeper Essam Al-Hadari became the Dervishes' first choice. Sobhi's deal with Ismaili runs out by the end of the ongoing season, and he's entitled to sign for another outfit in the winter. However, he stressed that he would rather extend his contract with the coastal side. "I'm fully committed to Ismaili," Sobhi told the club's official site. "I rose to fame as a footballer at Ismaili, and I'm really grateful to them for that. "We haven't reached an agreement yet over a contract extension, but I'll accept whatever deal they offer me." Sobhi, who has been Al-Hadari's understudy upon the latter's arrival in the summer, was mooted as a possible Ahli signing after Red Devils' goalkeeping coach Ahmed Nagi stated that his club are targeting him. Nagi said that Ittihad's Al-Hani Soliman, Mansoura's Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud and Sobhi were nominated to join the Egyptian champions in the forthcoming transfer window.
