Wesley Sneijder's injury turned out to be less serious than first thought, as an X-ray image showed that he only twisted his ankle. The 25-year-old was injured while featuring for his country Holland in Saturday's 3-0 friendly victory over Japan. The Inter Milan midfielder, who scored the second goal, was stretchered off with 12 minutes remaining and was taken to hospital on crutches. Holland coach Bert van Marwijk said earlier that Sneijder 'heard something crack', which indicated that he broke his ankle. But the medical tests Sneijder underwent later left no doubts that he neither suffers a fracture nor ligament damage. However, he still won't be able to take part in Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Scotland. He's also expected to sit out Inter's Seria A game with Parma and the Champions League opener against Barcelona.
