Mohamed Al-Gabbas has left Masri to sign for Belgian second division side SK Lierse despite the Egyptian club's rejection of the deal. Al-Gabbas took advantage of the fact that his contract with Masri was not registered at the Egyptian FA, a loophole that enabled him to leave the club for free. Masri decided to complain the player to the Egyptian FA, adding that the striker will still be named in the club's squad list for next season. The 21-year-old caught the eyes with Masri last season, as he scored nine league goals for the Port Said club. In the meantime, Masri's efforts to bring midfielder Mohamed Gouda from Harras Hodoud collapsed after the Egyptian Cup champions refused to sell the ex-Ahli man. Masri have been trying to sign Gouda in order to fill the void left by Akwetey Mensah, who also left the club to join Lierse.
