FilGoal player ratings: USA 3-0 Egypt
Published in FilGoal on 22 - 06 - 2009

A shocking performance by Egypt saw them slump to a 3-0 defeat to the US on Thursday and wave goodbye to the FIFA Confederations Cup.
The African champions' shocking display came only three days after their historic 1-0 victory over Italy, when they put in one of their finest performances.
FilGoal.com rated each of Egypt's players in their unexpected loss on a scale of 1 to 10.
Essam Al-Hadari (7.5): The 36-year-old goalie prevented USA from converting numerous chances. No doubt that he was the best performer among Hassan Shehata's men, although he conceded three goals.
Hani Saied (3): The Zamalek man was one of the worst players in the Egyptian national team; his blunders throughout the game could have enabled USA to notch more goals.
Wael Gomaa (3): His poor marking cost Egypt dearly. The Ahli veteran is definitely to blame for the first and third goals, not to mention his recurring mistakes over the 90 minutes.
Ahmed Fathi (5.5): The Ahli midfielder was not anywhere near his best and didn't play a major role in midfield as usual. He was replaced in the second period due to injury.
Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (5.5): The ENPPI wide man had a good start to the game, but his influence faded away later on. The right winger was dishing out crosses, regardless of his teammates' positioning in the box.

Al-Hadari
Hosni Abd-Rabou (5): He was by all means average. He tried his luck more than once from outside the penalty area, but to no avail.
Mohamed Shawky (5): Like the majority of his teammates, the Middlesbrough player put in a below-par performance. He was literarily absent from the game.
Ahmed Samir Farag (4.5): He failed to pose any threat from the left flank. None of the crosses he whipped in was nearly precise and his passes were also inaccurate.
Ahmed Eid (3.5): He was completely out of form. His lack of speed and concentration urged Shehata to replace him with Ahmed Hassan.
Mohamed Abou-Treika (6): The classy schemer missed the presence of Mohamed Zidan, whom he formed a fine partnership with against Brazil and Italy. He couldn't communicate well with Ahmed Abdul-Ghani, Zidan's replacement.
Ahmed Abdul-Ghani (4): He wasted a clear-cut opportunity early in the first half, and couldn't deliver the goods till he was taken off due to injury.
Ahmed Hassan (5): The Egypt skipper was combative as usual, but wasn't influential enough in midfield.
Ahmed Saied 'Ouka' (5.5): His introduction instead of Fathi didn't bolster the backline that remained horrible till the final whistle.
Mohamed Mohsen Abou-Greisha (5): As a lone striker, he couldn't make a tangible impact and didn't carve out any scoring opportunities.
