Egypt midfielder Mohamed Hommos was given a surprising starting berth in the Pharaohs' Confederations Cup clash against Italy. Coach Hassan Shehata made only one change in the Egypt line-up that lost 4-3 to Brazil in the tournament's opener. Skipper Ahmed Hassan will start on the bench to make way for Ismaili's Hommos. Mohamed Zidan, who scored twice against Brazil, retained his position as Egypt's lone striker. He will be supported by classy playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika. Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Saied 'Ouka' and Hani Saied will form the African champions' three-man defense. Sayed Moawad and Ahmed Fathi will play on the left and right flank respectively while Mohamed Shawky will partner Hosni Abd-Rabou in the heart of Egypt's midfield.
