Egypt star Mohamed Zidan was highly acclaimed in the Italian press, following the Pharaohs' magnificent display in their 4-3 loss to Brazil in the FIFA Confederations Cup. The Borussia Dortmund forward was instrumental upfront in Monday's game when he was deployed as a lone striker, and scored either side of the interval. Zidan brought the score level twice; his first strike canceled out Brazil's one-goal lead that was earned by superstar Kaka. The Samba Dancers finished the first half with a two-goal cushion after goals from Luis Fabiano and Juan respectively, but the Egyptians retaliated after the break. Mohamed Shawky notched Egypt's second goal six minutes from the hour mark, seconds before Zidan hit another emphatic equalizer. Exciting Story "Brazil's Kaka scored twice to lead his team to a narrow win, but Egypt didn't finish the game empty-handed," Italian renowned paper Tutto Sport reported. "Zidan bagged a brace to prove that he deserves to be the namesake of France legend Zinedine Zidane. "Kaka's early opener suggested that Brazil would batter the Egyptians as Spain thrash New Zealand, but Egypt proved they are way tougher than first thought. "The game was a huge surprise for the whole world; the African champions embarrassed the five-time world champions. "Now Zidan and his teammates have an exciting story to tell their grandchildren."
