The Egyptian FA have set May 24th as a date for a potential Egyptian Premier League playoff match between Ahli and Ismaili. "We will also announce the match's venue once we are sure that Ahli and Ismaili will finish the league level on points," FA competitions committee head Nayef Ezzat said. Holders Ahli, who are seeking to win a fifth consecutive league title, are joint leaders with fierce rivals Ismaili. Both sides have 57 points with two matches left to play. Ismaili face relegation-threatened Telecom Egypt and already-relegated Tersana while Ahli take on much tougher opponents. The Red Devils will play third-placed Harras Hodoud and mid-table Gaish in their remaining games. If Ahli and Ismaili finish level on points at the top, they will meet in a league decider for the third time in the competition's history. Ismaili defeated Ahli 2-0 in 1991 but the Cairo giants had the upper hand three years later, winning 4-3.
