Zamalek's board of directors election will be held on May 28th, the club announced on Saturday. The Cairo side were scheduled to hold the election in July but were granted permission by the Egyptian Supreme Court to bring it forward. Zamalek seek to find stability after a period of administrative problems that heavily affected the team's run in local and continental competitions. The White Knights' new board will now have the chance to identify their targets and recruit new players in the summer transfer window. Zamalek interim chairman Mohamed Amer is currently heading the club's board of directors. Controversial lawyer Mortada Mansour and wealthy businessman Mamdouh Abbas, who enjoy a frosty relationship with each other, are expected to fight for Zamalek's presidential seat. Prominent Zamalek fan Morsi Atallah, the chairman of Egypt's best-selling newspaper Al-Ahram, might also present himself for election.
