Title holders Zamalek have almost their full squad available for their Egyptian Cup opener against third-division side Bani Obeid on Friday. The only absentee is Ghanaian striker Junior Agogo, who was granted permission to skip the game due to Christmas holidays. Left-back Osama Hassan returned to Zamalek's squad for the first time since being suspended by the club in November for disciplinary reasons. The squad also included youth team duo Alaa Ali and Ahmed Al-Merghani, who excelled in the Cairo giants' 3-1 Egyptian League win over Police Union. Zamalek will be looking to avoid the cup surprises when they meet Bani Obeid in the competition's round of 32. Premier-League clubs Ismaili and Ittihad were surprisingly eliminated at the hands of Dakhlia and Mansoura respectively. If Zamalek overcome Bani Obeid, they will face Mansoura in the cup round of 16.
