Ahli striker Ahmed Hassan Farag said that he regrets moving to the Red Devils from Ghazl Mahalla last summer. Farag had very few minutes of playing with Ahli so far in the season, and the 26-year-old said that he will be leaving the club in January. "I realized that coming to Ahli wasn't a smart move," Farag told Kora FM radio. "I was regularly playing at Mahalla and finished second top scorer in the league last season. I am not used to staying that much away from the field." Farag added that not playing regularly cost him a spot in the Egyptian national team. "When I was at Mahalla, I was always part of the Egypt setup, but now I can't be called by coach Hassan Shehata if I'm not playing at Ahli. "I was hoping to be given a chance to prove my worth for the club, rather than omitting me from games without any clear reason," he added. Farag concluded by confirming that he informed Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri of his desire to leave the club in January.
