Ismaili scored three goals inside the last half-hour to beat Ittihad 3-2 in a dramatic Egyptian league night in Ismailia. The Alexandrians were one nil up after just eight minutes, thanks to a close-range header by Abdul-Hamid Hassan. Seven minutes later, Reda Metwalli doubled Ittihad's lead when he beat Mohamed Sobhi with a neat lob as Ibrahim Saied's attempt to clear off the line went in vain. Ismaili's Brazilian coach Ricardo Ferreira took off top scorer Mostafa Karim after just 21 minutes, introducing Youssef Gamal, who almost had no impact on the game. Three set pieces The Dervishes pushed forward in search for a way back, but their breakthrough came via set pieces. A precise corner kick from Ahmed Al-Gamal was met by center-half Moatassem Salem, who hit the roof of the net in the 65th minute. One minute later, Al-Gamal sent another inviting corner, this time skipper Mohamed Hommos was at the end of it, heading in the equalizer. Four minutes from time, the home side were awarded a penalty for an adjudged handball by Mohamed Abou-Khangar, as Saied buried home the winner. Ittihad finished the game with man down after Khamis Gaafar saw red in injury time for a second bookable offence. The victory helped Ismaili jump to second place with 20 points, four less than leaders Petrojet. Ittihad remain 10th on 14 points.
