Ahli president Hassan Hamdi confirmed that the club is still keen on maintaining their rights of exclusive satellite broadcasting to the club's league football games. In the club's general assembly convention on Friday, Hamdi insisted that the Ahli board won't give up on their rights of satellite broadcasting games exclusively on the club's television channel, the Egyptian Satellite Channel (ESC) and the public Nile Sports channel. Since launching Ahli TV on August 6th the club has been in row with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) over broadcasting the club's league games. EFA have earlier announced their rejection of Ahli's proposal that club's channel and ESC would be the only satellite broadcaster due to the Association's running contract with other satellite networks to air all league games. During Friday's convention, Hamdi rejected a suggestion to halt satellite and terrestrial broadcasting of all Ahli games until the conflict with EFA is resolved. In the meantime, the club also rejected the latest legislation issued by the Egyptian sporting council banning club boards from signing any contracts within the last six months of their electoral period.
