Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney recovered from a virus infection and was passed fit to play against Newcastle, on Sunday, in the Premier League opener. The England player picked a virus during United's African tour and has been ruled out of trainings for almost a week. "He has trained all week. We took him down to the Community Shield last Sunday and he did some work for us then,” Sir Alex Ferguson told Skysports.com. Rooney's quick recovery comes to boost the Red Devils' front line especially that Cristiano Ronaldo is still out with a knee injury.
