Egyptian Weightlifter Mohamed Abdul-Baki finished eighth in the men's 62kg class competition. Abdul-Baki lifted 129kg after three snatch attempts, he then lifted 155kg and 159kg in the jerk and clean, but failed to lift 164kg, making a total of 288 points. Abdul-Baki was 10kg away from securing a bronze medal, which was won by Indonesia's Triyatno.
