Brazil eased through to the quarter-finals of the Men's football competition in after thrashing New Zealand 5-0 in Group C. The South American giants, led by AC Milan star Ronaldinho, take charge of the group after producing a fantastic display at Shenyang Olympic Stadium. Ronaldinho scored twice, courtesy of a free kick and a penalty, Alexandre Pato, Anderson and Sobis were also on the scoresheet. Argentina have also booked a place in the last eight after beating Australia 1-0, thanks to a second half volley by Ezequiel Lavezzi. African duo Nigeria and Cameroon registered narrow wins over Japan and Honduras respectively.
