Italy coach Roberto Donadoni said he was confident Marco van Basten would do his utmost to make sure Holland gave Romania a tough test. World champions Italy need to beat rivals France and hope that already-qualified Holland down Romania to stand a chance of booking a place in EURO 2008 quarter-finals. Van Basten, a former teammate of Donadoni at AC Milan, said he intended to make some changes in Holland's line-up for Romania match. Donadoni, who has been heavily criticized after Italy stumbled in their two group stage games, phoned his friend for reassurance. "I spoke to Marco and he thinks the same way I do, that there is no such thing as a reserve player," Donadoni was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia. "Marco is a fair, honest and competent person. I know Van Basten better than anyone else here. He has these values and for me that is already a guarantee."
