Italian coach Alberto Zaccheroni is set to become Zamalek's new coach, Cairo giants' chairman Mamdouh Abbas said on Wednesday. "We are putting the finishing touches to the deal," Abbas told the club's official website. "We will announce the date of Zaccheroni's arrival in Cairo in the next few hours." Zamalek board member Ahmed Hafez recently said that the club's negotiations with Zaccheroni faced a stumbling block. The 55-year-old coach was reluctant to have a new experience away from Serie A, according to Hafez. However, it now seems that both parties agreed a deal that will see Zaccheroni succeed Dutchman Ruud Krol at Zamalek's helm. Zaccheroni has a plenty of experience in the Serie A. He managed Lazio, Inter Milan and AC Milan, winning with the latter the Scudetto in 1999. Meanwhile, Zamalek are on the brink of completing the signing of Ghanaian striker Junior Agogo from Nottingham Forest. "The deal is almost done. The full details will be disclosed later," Abbas revealed. Agogo is seen as a replacement for star Amr Zaki, who is set to complete a move to Premiership side Wigan Athletic. The 28-year-old Agogo played a key role in Forest's promotion to the Championship- the second tier of the English football league system- after scoring 13 goals last season.
