Ahli are close to signing Aluminum keeper Mohamed Khalaf as they look to fill the void left by Essam Al-Hadari's abrupt departure to Swiss side Sion. The Egyptians champions want to reach a compromise with Aluminum, who demanded EGP 1.5 million to release Khalaf, FiGoal.com has learned. The 30-year-old Khalaf caught the eyes with some impressive displays for Aluminum this season. Aluminum, who lie 11th in the Egyptian League table, conceded 41 goals this season but this is largely down to the team's shaky defense. Ahli coach Manuel Jose was left in selection dilemma after veteran goalie Al-Hadari moved to Sion without the consent of the Cairo giants. Amir Abdul-Hamid is currently Ahli's first-choice keeper but his injury paved the way for youngster Ahmed Abdul-Monem to feature.
