Tersana settle for draw with Suez Cement
Published in FilGoal on 09 - 04 - 2008

Suez Cement and Tersana played out a 1-1 draw that didn't do them any favor as they strive to survive in the Egyptian League, while Baladeya snatched a late draw at Ittihad.
Mahmoud Al-Nadi grabbed the lead for Suez Cement early in the game but substitute Ahmed Salama secured a share of spoils with 20 minutes remaining.
The draw put Tersana in 13th place of the 16-team table with 22 points, just two clear of the relegation zone, which features Suez Cement, Telecom Egypt and Baladeya.
Midfielder Al-Nadi put Suez Cement in front after 13 minutes when some poor defending allowed him to go clear before slotting past Tersana keeper Ahmed Saad
Tersana then pushed forward searching for the equalizer and wasted several clear-cut chances to level the score.
Suez Cement keeper Wissam Ismail was on alert to deny Mohamed Al-Rayes' powerful shot.
Early in the second half, striker Ahed Abdul-Maguid's shot from six yards was blocked by defender Mostafa Shebeita.
Tersana had another dangerous opportunity five minutes past the hour mark.

Ittihad
Abdul-Rahman Mohie almost claimed the equalizer but he was unlucky to see his shot cannon off the post.
Salama, who was introduced instead of Walid Aboul-Ella, finally scored the equalizer in the 70th minute with a well-placed header.
Ittihad Surrender Lead
Elsewhere, Ittihad failed to hold onto their lead to allow hosts Baladeya snatch a late 1-1 draw.
Hossam Abdul-Moneim put the Alexandria-based side ahead six minutes after restart when he converted a penalty.
Nigerian striker Basary Mosongo notched home three minutes from time to level the score.
Ittihad lie 12th on 22 points as they battle to avoid an unthinkable relegation to the second division.
