AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti has launched a scathing attack on hs players following their 2-1 home defeat against Sampdoria on Wednesday. “This is not good. We went 2-0 down in scandalous fashion," said the Milan boss after the game. “We made two unforgivable mistakes and then it became very difficult to make up for them. The approach to the game was totally wrong." The Rossoneri failed to close on fourth-placed Fiorentina who lost from Napoli earlier on Wednesday to maintain their four-point advantage. “Admittedly Kaka going off after nine minutes weighed on the team, but we really got it all wrong tonight.” Ancelotti admitted that his men have been struggling at San Siro since the beginning of the season as they won only four times from a total of fourteen games played on home ground. Tired and old "Perhaps the team is getting a bit tired and old in terms of mentality, but we should wait until the end of the season to discuss this. They are considerations we must make in June," Milan have eight players who are more than 34 years old: Paolo Maldini, Guiseppe Favalli, Serginho, Dario Simic, Dida, Kalac, Cristian Brocchi and Filippo Inzaghi. The World Champions have been linked with Chelsea's Andriy Shevchenko, 32, and Barcelona's Gianluca Zambrotta, 32. Brazilian ace Kaka has fumed over the Milanese transfer policy and said many times that they need to invest in young players. But despite all this criticism Ancelotti insists he won't throw in the towel "In any case, I am not thinking of leaving my post.” Milan are having a poor season as they are fifth of the Serie A standings and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.
